Cultural Events
Towards the future, Together with the World
As an extension of our program curriculum, KAIST GDI provides opportunities to experience Korean traditions directly and indirectly. Students visit places where they can feel the depth and beauty of our culture. They can also check the knowledge about Korean history and culture they have learned in class and actually try various traditional activities.
Students have visited the Pottery Village, Hanok Village in Jeonju, Hahoe folk village in Andong, BulguksaTemple in Gyeonju and for the last few years.
Through these trips, students can improve their understanding of Korean culture, gain a Korean-friendly perspective, and raise intimacy among students.

Various cultural events are held to provide chances to feel Korea's unique cultural customs and taste Korean cuisines. KAIST GDI students, family, and staffs gather to celebrate traditional holidays such as Jeongwol Daeboreum, Sambok, Chuseok, and Winter solstice.
Along with these events, we also enjoy other events like Teacher's day and Year-end party, etc. Sometimes, students cook their traditional food and share it with everyone. Through these gatherings and cross-cultural experiences, students will have the opportunity to experience Korea's traditions and the culture of their colleagues' countries, which will contribute to mutual understanding and cooperation.
