    What is difference between the KAIST application form and the ITTP application form?
    A
    There are two kind of application forms.

    One is KAIST official application form which apply to all applicants of all departments in KAIST and the other is ITTP application form which is only for our department ITTP.
    ITTP is a special program which recruits only employees working in government related organization in emerging countries.

    I paid application fee by credit card but it paid twice by mistake. Can I get a refund?
    A
    Please email us and inform us of your double payment then we will cancel one of the payments after checking your personal information.

    I paid application fee by credit card and it charges over USD 80, what happened?
    A
    The application fee (USD 80) does not include a transaction fee.
    If you transfer the application fee, you have to consider its remittance charge of international transaction.

    How can I pay for the application fee?
    A
    You can pay an application fee of 80 dollars or 80,000 won by credit card or bank transfer. Any additional charges (i.e. bank charges) should be covered by the candidate.
    If you want to do the bank transfer, it takes some time so please do it before the document submission deadline.
    And please don’t forget to fill out the “INVOICE, https://admission.kaist.ac.kr/intl-undergraduate/support/coa”.

    I have missed the online application deadline, can you help me?
    A
    Unfortunately, there is no way to help you. You have to apply for next semester.

    Do you accept paper application for admission?
    A
    No, we accept online application only.

    I heard that KISA aims to help the international student community in KAIST, is that right?
    A
    KISA provides students with useful information, and also prepares many events for the international community.
    KISA also maintains close contact with international Alumni, providing current students with a clearer picture of their future.

    I failed to upload my photograph on the online application. Whenever I try, an error message comes out. What can I do about this?
    A
    In that case, please email us at creative.adm@kaist.ac.kr. We will contact you after resolving the problem.

    Where can I apply to KAIST?

    You can access https://apply.kaist.ac.kr/InterApply/InterApply/Login and apply during the online application period only.
    Please read instructions carefully before you begin your application.

    Is there any Halal food in campus?
    A
    Yes, we do sell Halal food.

    Does KAIST provide kitchen facilities?
    A
    KAIST provides kitchen facilities for the convenience of international students.
    The International Kitchen facility is location in Nanum Hall(W7), and students must apply with the ISSS within the registration period to use this kitchen.
    The kitchen is furnished with refrigerators, microwave ovens and gas stoves etc.

    Can I cook inside my room?
    A
    It is forbidden for students to cook or use cooking devices of any kind inside their rooms, regardless of the dormitory hall.
    This is to keep the rooms clean and prevent fire and explosion hazards.
    Students can use the microwave ovens and water dispensers (with hot and cold water) in the student lounges.

    Is it possible to live off campus?
    A
    No, you can live outside of the campus only after staying for at least a year in the campus dormitory.

    What do I have to bring for the dormitory room?
    A
    Dormitory rooms are fully furnished, so you only have to bring your personal belongings, such as books, bedding (pillow, blanket, mattress cover, etc.,), toiletries, clothes hangers, and other daily necessities.

    How can I get the information about KAIST International students?
    A
    Please refer to KAIST International Students Association(KISA) website which is kisa.kaist.ac.kr.

    Are courses in KAIST taught in Korean or in English?
    A
    English is the medium of instruction in KAIST.
    Few specific courses are given in Korean but international students can substitute for others taught in English.

    How can I apply for a student visa?
    A
    International students must obtain a student visa in order to study in Korea. International students can apply for their visa via the University. Details of application will be given to you after admission.

    I do not have a passport. What should I do?
    A
    You can submit a copy of national ID card instead of passport.
  • Q
    I failed to get into KAIST this time, when are you sending back my documents?
    A
    Sorry, submitted documents will not be returned in any case.

    Will I be granted interviews?
    A
    Admission officers may invite applicants to attend interviews.
    But not all applicants need to attend an interview.
    Admission officers will notify applicants the arrangements for interview by mail, e-mail, or phone, if necessary.
