“ITTP has touched the lives of many who would have never got the opportunity to feel the quality of life we all experienced in Korea.”
Every day of my two years stay at ITTP has been a memorable experience which I can still vividly remember as if it’s just yesterday. Every morning the Tapokki joint near the School outside ITTP gate is just a treat that I miss every day. The language classes (the thrill of being able to understand a popular language is very rewarding) and Taekwondo classes are some of my favourites I still cherish. Most of all the kind of educational facilities provided at ITTP has always been a treat for me every day. Professionally ITTP provided the best learning experience with rich and vast learning resources, well-learned professors and the competent peer guidance within and outside the campus. When the internet services anywhere in the world were just basic, ITTP campus provided the best services where access to any content was made a lot easier.
My class of Spring 2009 had a unique mix of candidates; an elderly Sani Sii from Ghana pursuing Ph.D, a very determined hardworking Agnis Sii from Kenya, mysterious Simeon Sii from Bulgaria, all loving and kind Akmal from Afghanistan and a fellow country man from Bhutan Pradhan Sii who is the living happy go lucky person in the class. It was not only a challenge to manage this motley group of various characters but it was also fun mostly while we went for cruises around the country. Akmal is an avid footballer, my partner in supporting Manchester United. Once when Manchester United came to play at Seoul, I was so excited hoping to see Park, Ji-Sung play live. We tried to book tickets online, unfortunately we couldn’t because the tickets got sold out in seconds. Akmal, myself and our Saudi friend Fawaz were sad for few days.
A month-long internship with Amine from Tunisia at Public Procurement Service Office at Daejeon and learning about Korean e-Procurement System (KONEPS) introduced me to the Korean Government Employees and the culture of Korean Civil Servants. They were so accommodating and always kind to give us the best of experiences.
After my return from ITTP, I have had a variety of career experiences from being an ICT regulator to a Planner in the Gross National Happiness Commission Secretariat to looking after the Social Welfare Scheme of His Majesty The King at His Majesty’s Secretariat. Currently I am working as a Chief Program Officer under His Majesty’s Secretariat at the Capital, Thimphu.
ITTP has been very instrumental in providing quality learning opportunities supported by world class infrastructure and learning facilities to many of us who came from less known countries in the world in terms of development. ITTP has touched the lives of many who would have never got the opportunity to feel the quality of life we all experienced in Korea. ITTP has also enhanced employability skills to many of its scholars many of whom serve in key positions in not only their own countries but also in some of the MNCs. On this 16th Anniversary, I would like to join the entire ITTP alumni across the globe for your continued support and growth.
